Baritone


German Bass-Baritone Oliver Zwarg is one of today’s most exiting artists in the Germanic opera-repertoire and works by f. i. Strauss and Wagner. He recently made his debut as Wanderer in Siegfried and will be continuing his Wagnerian path with Wotan in Wagner’s Rheingold. In the coming season, there will also be a debut in the title role of Alban Berg’s Wozzeck coinciding with the centennial year of its first performance in 1925 in Darmstadt.

Oliver freelances, gracing stages across Germany at venues like the Cologne Opera, Berlin State Opera, and Semperoper Dresden, while also performing internationally from Shanghai to London. Notable roles include Jochanaan, Barak, and Kurwenal, with premieres including "Carmen" and "Die Meistersinger von Nürnberg." 

 Oliver collaborates with esteemed directors like Calixto Bieito and Stefan Herheim. Recognized for his versatile vocal range, Oliver's concert repertoire spans from Renaissance to contemporary compositions, partnering with prestigious orchestras worldwide.
