The highly talented, young lyric mezzo-soprano Ebba Lejonclou finished her studies at the Stockholm University of the Arts' Opera Vocal Performance programme and graduated with excellence in June 2024.
Ebba has already secured exciting roles, including Sigrid in Folkoperan's production of "Herr Arnes Penningar" by Peter Nordahl and Kuchtík in “Rusalka” at The Royal Opera in Stockholm. Notable past performances include Kate Pinkerton in "Madama Butterfly" at the Royal Swedish Opera and Dodo McNeill in the Scandinavian premiere of "Breaking the Waves" by M. Mazzoli.
Further studied roles include Dido in Dido and Aeneas by H. Purcell, Orfeo in Orfeo ed Eurydice by C. W. Gluck, Cherubino in Le nozze di Figaro, Dorabella in Così fan tutte, zweite Knabe, dritte Knabe, zweite Dame and dritte Dame in Die Zauberflöte as well as Sesto in La Clemenza di Tito by W. A. Mozart, Romeo in I Capuleti e i Montecchi by V. Bellini, Octavian in Der Rosenkavalier by R. Strauss, Hänsel in Hänsel und Gretel by E. Humperdinck and Suzuki in Madama Butterfly by G. Puccini.
Ebba's repertoire spans from classical opera to sacred music and art songs. She finds inspiration in various genres, including musicals, folk, jazz, and soul. With a passion for J. S. Bach's music, Ebba has collaborated with renowned conductors and received numerous scholarships for her outstanding talent and dedication to opera.
