Dorottya Láng, born in Budapest and trained in Vienna, is a celebrated mezzo-soprano. Winner of esteemed competitions like the Wigmore Hall Kohn Foundation International Singing Competition, she's graced stages from London to Hamburg.
In these years she’s captivating audiences around the world in her signature role as Judith in Bartok’s Bluebeards Castle, aswell as with her gorgeous Octavian Der Rosenkavalier and Adriano in Wagners Rienzi.
In 2024/25 she returns to Budapest's Wagner Days as Waltraute in "Götterdämmerung" a role she also performs at the New Opera in Denmark. A highlight and notable role-debut will be her portrait of Komponist in “Ariadne auf Naxos” at the Nederlanse Reisopera.
Other debuts takes her to the Savonlinna Festival, Berliner Philharmoniker and Oslo Opera House. Besides of this, her first Lied Soloalbum with Daniel Heide releases this year.
Láng's concert credits include performances of Schumann’s “Requiem für Mignon” and Elgar's “Dream of Gerontius”. Renowned for her versatility, she's collaborated with conductors like Adam Fischer and Kent Nagano. And recently she took on the mezzo-part in Bernstein’s Songfest with Thomas Dausgaard and Copenhagen Phil with very short notice.
