Laura Mayer is a Danish-German mezzo-soprano who has established herself through a series of prominent roles at the Norwegian National Opera & Ballet in Oslo. From 2024 to 2026 she was a member of the Wilhelmsen Opera Studio for Young Singers, where her roles included Dorabella in Così fan tutte, Flora Bervoix in La traviata, Frantik in The Cunning Little Vixen, the Kitchen Boy in Rusalka and Second Lady in Die Zauberflöte.

In spring 2026 she concluded her time in Oslo with the title role in Britten’s The Rape of Lucretia, directed by Peter Langdal and conducted by James Sherlock. In the 2026/27 season she returns to the Norwegian National Opera & Ballet as Herlofs-Marte in Edvard Fliflet Bræin’s Anne Pedersdotter, conducted by Edward Gardner and directed by Maren Bjørseth.

Further operatic appearances include RVN in The Ring – forever hot, La Badessa in Puccini’s Suor Angelica, Holofernes in Vivaldi’s Juditha triumphans and roles in Philip Venables’ 4.48 Psychosis.

Laura is also active on the concert platform and has appeared with the Munich Symphony Orchestra, Danish National Symphony Orchestra, Odense Symphony Orchestra and the Philharmonic Orchestra of Lübeck. Her repertoire includes works by Bach, Handel, Mozart, Rossini, Dvořák and Mahler. She trained in Munich at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater and the Bavarian Theatre Academy August Everding with KS Prof. Christiane Iven.

In 2026 she received the Else Brems Travel Scholarship.
